Senior Citizen Property Tax Exemption Available
If you or someone in your household is 65 years of age or older and owns and occupies their home as a primary residence, you may be eligible for the Senior Citizens Homestead Exemption in DuPage County.
This exemption reduces your home’s assessed value by $8,000, leading to annual property tax savings—typically over $100, depending on local tax rates.
How to Apply
To apply, complete the Senior Citizens Homestead Exemption Application and submit it along with:
Proof of Age: A copy of your driver’s license, state ID, passport, or birth certificate.
Proof of Ownership: A copy of your deed, title policy, or other legal ownership document.
